Frequently Asked Questions:

Find answers to common questions about our estate planning and trust documents services.

Q: What documents do I need to bring to my notarization appointment?

A: You must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID card). The ID must be current and not expired. You should also have all the documents that need to be notarized, but please do not sign them beforehand - signatures must be made in the presence of the notary. If witnesses are required, we can provide them or you can bring your own (witnesses must also have valid ID).

Q: What is a Trust Delivery Agent?

A: We offer Certified Notary Trust Delivery Agent (CNTDA) services. A Certified Notary Trust Delivery Agent is a professional specializing in the secure and compliant handling of estate planning and trust documents. We ensure these sensitive documents are correctly notarized and delivered to the appropriate parties, such as attorneys or designated beneficiaries.

Q: Do all estate planning documents require witnesses in Florida?

A: Not all documents require witnesses, but many do. In Florida, Last Wills and Testaments require two witnesses, Healthcare Directives typically require two witnesses, and some Power of Attorney documents may require witnesses depending on their specific language. Our notary will review your documents during the pre-review process to determine if witnesses are needed and coordinate accordingly.

Q: Can you notarize documents that have already been signed?

A: No, Florida law requires that all signatures be made in the physical presence of the notary. If you have already signed your documents, they cannot be legally notarized. You would need to obtain new, unsigned copies of the documents for proper notarization. This is why our pre-review process is so important - we ensure everything is ready before the signing appointment.

Q: How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?

A: For weekday evenings and weekend appointments in Seminole County and Greater Orlando (Orange County), Same-day appointments are available based on our schedule, but there is a $25 rush service fee. For weekend appointments in extended service areas in Tampa (Hillsborough County), Brandon, Riverview and surrounding areas, please book at least one day in advance. Rush, holiday and after-hours appointments require advance scheduling and carry an additional $25 fee.

Q: What does “2–5 documents” mean in the estate planning and trust notarization packages?

A: The package includes up to 5 documents per signer. If you have more than five documents, each additional document is $25. Clients with multiple documents often save by choosing a package instead of paying per document.

Q: Can you travel to hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities?

A: Yes, we provide mobile notary services to hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences throughout our service area. However, please note that some medical facilities may have specific visiting hours or requirements. We recommend calling ahead to confirm we can access the facility and that the signer is alert and capable of understanding the documents they are signing, as required by Florida law.

Q: What payment methods do you accept and when is payment due?

A: We accept multiple convenient payment options for all services, including cash, credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Zelle. Checks are accepted for corporate billing purposes only, making it easy to complete any notary or document service using your preferred payment method.

Q: What happens if there are errors or problems with my documents during the appointment?

A: During our pre-review process, we carefully examine documents to identify potential issues before signing begins. If we discover problems during the appointment (missing pages, incorrect information, incomplete sections), we will stop the process to prevent invalid notarization. While this may require rescheduling, it protects you from having legally invalid documents. We provide guidance on how to correct issues and can reschedule once documents are properly prepared.

Q: Do you provide the actual estate planning documents, or do I need to have them prepared elsewhere?

A: We provide notarization services only - we do not prepare, draft, or provide legal advice on estate planning documents. You must have your documents prepared by an attorney, online legal service, or other qualified preparer before our appointment. We recommend having documents reviewed by a qualified attorney, especially for complex estates or situations involving significant assets.

Q: What areas do you serve and are there different rates for different locations?

A: Our primary service area includes Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Fern Park, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Springs, and surrounding Central Florida neighborhoods. Extended weekend service is available to Orlando (Orange County), Apopka, Maitland, Winter Park, and Tampa areas. All pricing includes the mobile travel fee regardless of location within our service areas - there are no additional mileage charges or location-based fees.

Q: Do you provide legal advice or prepare legal documents?

A: No. As a Notary Public, we are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice or prepare legal documents. Our role is limited to verifying identities and witnessing signatures. For legal advice, please consult with a qualified attorney.
